BACOLOD CITY–It’s positive: they’re negative.
Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, three other officials, and 13 employees have tested negative for the coronavirus, results released Sunday afternoon showed.
Also testing negative were Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, Dr. Ernell Tumimbang, provincial health officer, and Dr. Jessica Fama, assistant health officer.
Thirteen other employees from the Office of the Governor and the Office of the Provincial Administrator, whose names are being withheld by iNEWS for privacy considerations, also tested negative.
The tests were conducted at the Capitol grounds on Sunday morning, days after the positive diagnosis last week of Dr. Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian and three of his staff members from the Provincial Incident Management Team (PIMT).
Lacson and Diaz were reportedly exposed to Caelian at a meeting Tuesday, March 22.
This forced the lockdown of the Office of the Governor, the Office of the Provincial Administrator, and the Provincial Disaster Management Program Division office and the quarantine of the officials and employees.
The said offices will re-open on Monday, March 29. (Eugene Y. Adiong/iNEWS-Bacolod/Negros Bureau)
