ILOILO CITY—After a significant slash in electricity rates just two months back, Iloilo City consumers of MORE Power are about to enjoy more savings as the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC) complies with the recent order of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) mandating a stoppage in the congestion and other applicable line rental charges leveled on power consumers relative to the damaged submarine cable of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).
Now MORE Power is just awaiting directives from the ERC on how and when to implement the refund for the excess generation charge for the July and August billing months.
In a post on its official Facebook page, MORE Power further disclosed that for the billing month of September 2021, the Statements of Account already sent out between September 20 and September 22 to 3,000 customers will be recollected and replaced with revised billings that reflect the following adjusted generation charges: P6.38 per kilowatt-hour for residential customers; P6.11/kWh for commercial consumers; and 6.05/kWh for power/industrial customers.
To note, MORE Power effected a huge cut in electricity rates only two months ago, with residential consumers thereafter enjoying a rate of only P6.45 per kilowatt-hour, and commercial and power/industrial consumers charged only P6.18 and P6.12 per kilowatt-hour, respectively. The new rates reflect a decrease of P0.07 across the board. (N. Glenn Aragon/iNEWS)
