KALIBO, Aklan–The Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) does not tolerate the wrongdoings of erring cops in the province of Aklan.
Case in point: Patrolman Rommel Magsusi, 25, is facing a possible charge for grave misconduct due to alleged concubinage.
Under his watch, Aklan provincial police director Col. Ramir Perlito Perlas warned police personnel to stop their wrongdoings and abuses that may taint the good image of the Philippine National Police.
“We won’t condone the actions of Magsusi. The charges against him is a dismissible offense. Uwa it gin obra kundi pakahuy-an ru organisasyon [His misconduct has brought shame to the organization],” he said in a radio interview.
Perlas ordered chief investigator Lt. Col. Ricky Bontogon to conduct the pre-charge investigation.
A pre-charge investigation determines the existence of probable cause based on the allegations of the complaint and supporting evidence.
Meanwhile, Magsusi and the 32-year old public school teacher have pending charges before a local court in Aklan.
The pair were caught in flagrante delicto in a boarding house in Brgy. Poblacion in Kalibo, Aklan a few weeks ago by the female respondent’s husband, an overseas Filipino worker.
Both have been released after posting bail for the crimes of concubinage and adultery.
This wasn’t the first time Magsusi figured in the news. Last May, he filed physical injury charges to five other police personnel of the 2nd Aklan Police Mobile Force Company (APMFC) in Buruanga, Aklan for alleged maltreatment.
He was reassigned to the APPO pending the investigation of the National Police Commission in Iloilo City. (Boy Ryan Zabal/iNews-Aklan/Boracay Bureau)
