BACOLOD CITY–Effective August 3, 2021, fast craft trips between Bacolod City and Iloilo City and vice versa are suspended anew.

Chief Petty Officer Louie Campaner, commander of the Philippine Coast Guard sub-station at the BREDCO Port in Bacolod City, confirmed the trip suspension after the Iloilo City government imposed a hard lockdown in Iloilo City from today until Aug. 8, 2021.

The lockdown is the Iloilo City government’s response to reports that the COVID-19 Delta variant is already in Panay.

Trips of roll-on roll-off (RORO) vessels, however, continue between Bacolod City and the town of Dumangas in Iloilo province.

RORO vessels transport essential goods between Panay and Negros islands through BREDCO and Banago ports in Bacolod and Dumangas in Iloilo.

Meanwhile, only essential travelers from Panay are allowed to enter Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

All those traveling from Panay and entering Bacolod, including Authorized Persons outside Residence (APORs) but except those from national government agencies, are required to present the following requirements: online BacTrac Registration, Online Health Declaration, S-PaSS Travel Coordination Permit, valid personal IDs, and a negative RT- PCR test result.
