BACOLOD CITY–Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the provincial government is aiming to vaccinate 93,000 Negrenses against COVID-19 during the three-day National Vaccination Days beginning November 29.

Lacson said they aim to vaccinate 1,000 individuals per town daily, which he admits won’t meet the Department of Health (DOH) target of 500,000 individuals over the same period.

“That number is impossible to attain, but I am optimistic the province will reach herd immunity by February next year,” he stated.

Earlier, acting presidential spokesman Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles announced that November 29, 2021, to December 1, 2021, will be special working days in support of the nationwide simultaneous rollout of the government’s vaccination program that aims to help achieve herd immunity for the country.

Recent data show that the number of individuals getting vaccinated is increasing compared to previous months. (Eugene Y. Adiong/iNews-Bacolod/Negros Bureau)
